Head Chef – Elias Coria
At just 32 years old, Executive Chef Elias Coria brings 14 years of culinary experience and a deep passion for Spanish, Mexican, and California cuisine to Mochulelo Tapas Restaurant. His journey in the kitchen began at age 16, helping his mother run a small Mexican food stand. What started as lending a hand quickly turned into a true calling. By 17, Elias and his cousin took over the stand, running it for two years and solidifying his love for cooking and hospitality.
Driven by that early spark, Elias enrolled in culinary school at 18 and went on to build a career from the ground up—working his way from line cook to head chef, then sous chef, and ultimately earning the title of executive chef. At 29, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own food truck, further shaping his approach to bold flavors and community-focused cooking.
Chef Elias is most inspired when creating Mexican and Spanish dishes, flavors tied deeply to his childhood memories. Growing up, his family didn’t have much, but they always had good food—a truth that continues to shape his philosophy today. His cooking reflects that heritage: honest, soulful, and crafted with intention.
Outside the kitchen, Elias enjoys spending time with family and friends. Whether barbecuing, cooking together, or simply sharing good company, he finds joy in the same thing that drives his work—bringing people together through food.
